A Photo Diary of the Cocci Grifoni Family

Our Dad, Guido, the little one, with sister Ida and brother Vincenzo, posing with grandparents Domenico and Maria in front of the country residence of Cocci Grifoni. It was 1939 and their house was completed just six years previously.

Ten years later, in 1949, Aunt Ida marries Romulus Cocci Grifoni. Here they are just married, in the square in front of the residence at the entrance to number 19, Contrada Messieri of Ripatransone.

Our father Guido, now 20 years old, is riding a flaming Guzzi motorcycle and posing, in 1956, with his friends Giovanni Cocci Grifoni and Ermete Massi in the courtyard of the residence.

Diana, our mom, and Guido, our dad, are newly wed in 1963! The years pass, our parents are married and the house number changes but our home remains the same.

In 1965 Ms. Maria Cocci Grifoni, a friend of our mother Diana, and is next to the little Marilena in a pram, at the entrance of our home.

Growing Up: Marilena as a little girl posing with grandparents Maria and Giovanni in the garden in front of the residence.

Colour photos appear in the 1970s. Marilena and Paola, the sisters, are with cousins Isabella and Giandomenico, in the garden amidst beautiful summer vacations at the estate.

Here we are in 1979. Marilena and Paola in front of the entrance to the residence Cocci Grifoni. The photo shows the address number 12 that remains with us until today. To the left, in the background, you can see the entrance to the storage area where the barrels of the family wine were kept.

In 1983 the first major renovation of the residence is complete. The large cellar, which can be seen still unfinished, it is annexed to the family home.

In 1985, the residence evolves. The renovation is finally complete: a layer of cement over the traditional bricks and brand new blinds. Our dogs, Joghy and Gretel, wag their tails in the square.

1990s. Work begins around the house. The first work completed is the panoramic terrace of the family home. Marilena’s small daughters, Marta and Camilla, pose with the backdrop of the beautiful landscape.

Years pass and after a decade we restructure the Cocci Grifoni cellars, beside the family home. Little Marta and Camilla are pictured here in the flower garden, during the summer of 2000.

In 2004, the dwelling with terrace and cellar is almost complete. We see in the photo a step back in time with the small garden attached to the house.

Here we are in 2016! We have achieved our dream: welcoming friends who come from afar, to enjoy great comfort and beauty while spending some time in our land and discovering how our wine is born.
